Rifugio Romano is a dream come true for vegans traveling to Italy. It is a family-run trattoria located near the Termini station. While they still serve a traditional menu for meat-eaters, they have created a parallel, 100% vegan menu that perfectly recreates Italy's most famous dishes.

This is where you go to eat massive, comforting bowls of Vegan Carbonara (made with smoky tempeh), creamy Cacio e Pepe, and wood-fired pizzas topped with artisan plant-based cheeses. The portions are huge, the staff is welcoming, and the vibe is completely authentic.
